Well Speaking of remote shutter releases…
There was an article on Digital Photography School where the author created a remote shutter release using a doorbell system.
It is a pretty interesting concept, and a fairly clean setup. The tutorial goes into detail on how to on how to build your own.

First of all lets just answer the question:
“What is an Extension Tube, and why do I want one?”
